The 2006 International Conference on Islam, with this year's theme,
'Dialogue
vs. Conflict: Islam in the Age of Globalization', is scheduled from
March 24-25
on the UW-Madison campus, Madison, WI, at the Pyle Center.
This is to be a phenomenal two-day gathering of national and international
academics of sociology, history, religious studies, anthropology, and more,
presenting the latest research on topics of great interest and importance
worldwide, such as:
Islam and Globalization
Muslims, Integration, and the European Union
Muslim Women in the Public Sphere
Negotiating Religious and National Identities
Islam in Post-Soviet Nations
Islamic Movements in a Globalized World
Islam, Nation-state and Secularism
Case Study on Islam and Globalization: Fethullah Gulen's Movement
ICI'06 presents 9 panels including presentations by top national and
international experts, offering a unique educational opportunity.
