POSTGRADUATE DAY
Bristol, 11 July 2005
DEADLINE: Extended till 30th April 2005

BRISMES is the British Society for Middle Eastern Studies. It was=20
established in
1973 to encourage and promote the study of the Middle East in the United
Kingdom. It brings together teachers, researchers, students, diplomats,
journalists and others who deal professionally with the Middle East.=20
Membership
is open to all the above, regardless of nationality—indeed=20
regardless of
where in the world you are based.

Postgraduate members of the society are currently working to establish a
graduate section to represent your interests.

Of interest:
Papers on all topics within Middle Eastern studies (politics, literature,
history, linguistics, anthropology...).
Papers on the role of Middle Eastern studies in academia, public debate a=
nd
policy making.
Papers on the methodologies of Middle Eastern studies.

Intentions:
A forum for the presentation of current graduate research.
A forum for graduate students to meet and network.
The election of a committee to maintain the graduate section.
Finding out the needs, wants (and dreams) of graduate Middle Eastern stud=
ies
students in the UK.
