Call for Proposals « The Right to Be Different » a Conference on LGBT Rights
Location:	Quebec, Canada
Call for Papers Deadline:	2005-10-31

1st World Outgames:
A High-Level International Conference on GLBT Rights:
"The Right to Be Different"

"The Right to Be Different", the largest ever international Conference
on gay,
lesbian, bisexual and transgender rights, involving 2000 participants from
around the world, will be held in Montréal on 26-29 July 2006, just
before the
1st World Outgames.

The conference will include 7 plenary sessions (an opening dinner, a closing
lunch, and 5 other plenary sessions in between), at each of which the 2000
participants will be addressed by invited keynote speakers. There will
also be 5
workshop sessions, during each of which participants will be able to
choose from
a list of up to 75 workshops (or a total of up to 375 workshops during the
Conference).

The purpose of the Call for Proposals, by the International Scientific
Committee
that is organizing the content of the Conference, is to solicit
proposals for
the workshops. Allowing 3 or 4 speakers per 90-minute workshop, there
should be
somewhere between 1100 and 1500 speaking slots. Thus, it is expected
that the
majority of the 2000 participants will speak in a workshop. Proposals are
welcome from any person who is interested in the goal of equality for GLBT
persons, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

You can download the Call for Proposals from our web site, or request it by
