BIOTERROR AND WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION (WMD): FACT OR FICTION? - CALL
FOR PAPERS AND INVITATION FOR PARTICIPATION”
In a world that experiences terrorism as a form of global war, what is
the toll of psychological stress induced by biological threats such as
anthrax bacteria, biological toxic rich in, smallpox, botulism toxin and
Ebola? To what extent can biological weapons and weapons of mass
destruction (WMD) affect world health? How realistic is the fear induced
by such possibility? Do human beings have the power to cause the
extinction of our species – and life on earth? Critical evaluation of
incentives to develop antidotes to biological and chemical weapons. What
is the market for antidotes for chemical, radiological and nuclear
agents? What is the role of the private versus the public sector in
developing emergency programs, producing vaccines and carrying social
research against bioterrorism? How realistic is the Project Bioshield
Act? Does each nation state need its own Project Bioshield? How much
vaccine is needed? This session proposes an informed discussion of the
above issues from a global perspective and aims to make applicable,
realistic proposals. Social consequences of the collapse of buildings
and other man-made accidents will also be examined. Please find updated
