Dear All,

I am sending a link to the programme of the Aram Society's twenty-third
international conference, entitled "Modern Syriac Literature." Please
note, the conference will be held at the Oriental Institute of the
University of Chicago (not Oxford!), April 10-12 in Breasted Hall, from
9 a.m. - 5 p.m. The full programme may be accessed at:

http://oi.uchicago.edu/pdf/ARAM_Program_Web.pdf

The graphic on the left-hand side of the cover page is taken from a 1936
issue of the newspaper "Sparzona," which was published in Chicago by
refugees and émigrés from Iraq. The cover was designed by David Malick,
one of the conference participants.

The Aram Society is an independent, non-political, inter- religious,
non-profit-making society concerned with all aspects of
Syro-Mesopotamian cultures. It was founded by Dr Shafiq Abouzayd in
1986/87 at Oxford University. For more information, please see:

With best wishes,
