The Newberry Library, an independent humanities research library in
Chicago, Illinois, invites applications for its 2005-06 Short-Term
Fellowships in the Humanities. Newberry Library fellowships support
research in residence at the Library. The Newberry's collections concern
the civilizations of Western Europe and the Americas from the late
middle ages to the early twentieth century. Short-term residential
fellowships are intended for Ph.D. candidates or scholars with the Ph.D.
(or the equivalent for the field) from outside of the Chicago area who
have a specific need for Newberry collections. The tenure of short-term
fellowships varies from one week to three months. The amount of the
award is generally $1200 per month. Applications must be POSTMARKED by
*March 1, 2005*. For more information or to download application
