CULTURAL STUDIES
Research exchange and postdoc grants at the Advanced Cultural Studies 
Institute of Sweden (ACSIS)
ACSIS is Linkoping University's national centre for interdisciplinary 
cultural studies. It is located at Campus Norrkoping and affiliated with 
the Department for Studies of Social Change and Culture (ISAK). ACSIS 
activities include visiting scholars, courses, seminars, research, 
information and networking, in co-operation with thematically relevant 
departments in Norrkoping, Linkoping and at other Swedish universities.

We now offer resources for research exchange and postdoctoral education 
grants for Swedish and foreign PhD scholars with an orientation towards 
interdisciplinary cultural studies, who want to visit ACSIS for study 
purposes, for a period of one to six months. Visits to other departments 
and universities during the stay are encouraged.

Proposals for postdoc visitors are therefore welcomed, with no specific 
deadline of application. Proposals should contain:
1. a CV (where it must be clear if the applicant is employed or has 
received any other grants by Linkoping University);
2. a declaration of intent briefly stating the motives for visiting ACSIS;
3. an outline of an educational plan specifying for which activities the 
visit will be used: contact with departments and exchanges with specific 
researchers in the surrounding of ACSIS, participation in courses and 
seminars, presentations of the applicant's own research, research 
fieldwork, writing etc.
The main format is a taxfree grant of 11 000 - 15 000 SEK per month, 
covering costs for housing and living. The precise amount within this 
interval is individually decided. For foreign visitors, ACSIS also 
covers normal office costs, travel to and from Norrkoping, and by 
agreement other reasonable resources needed for the purposes of the visit.

In exceptional cases, other solutions may also be discussed, including 
1-6 months employments or 2-4 weeks visiting professorships.
