The University of Calgary, Department of History, invites applications for
a one-term sessional teaching position in the history of Modern Turkey.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or be near completion (A.B.D.). There
may be a possibility of returning for a second and third session the
following years. The successful candidate will be required to teach
undergraduate courses in Modern Turkish History. Ability to teach the
field of the Ottoman Empire will be an asset. The position requires that
the successful candidate teach two undergraduate courses and be willing
to work collaboratively with other scholars in the field and with the
community. The position will be for the Fall term, September 1st 2004
until December 31, 2004. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

in teaching, and examples of their published work and arrange to have
