The Programme of Turkish Studies of the Institute for Mediterranean
Studies announces its fifth international Symposium, which will be held
in Rethymno, Greece, on 10 – 12 January, 2003. The topic of the
Symposium
is “The Provincial Elites in the Ottoman Empire”.
