Azerbaijani Language and Identity
to be held on 15th of April 2003
at the School of International Migration and Ethnic Relations, Malmoe
University, Sweden.
This one-day symposium will include papers on different aspects of the
Azerbaijani language and identity, showing the wide range of issues of great
actuality in Iran, Azerbaijan and neighbouring countries. Among papers to be
read are the following:
Javad Heyyat (Tehran): Formation of the Azerbaijani language
Mohamed Ali Farzane (Gothenborg, Sweden): A short view on changes in the .
Azerbaijani language and identity over time
Shifteh Amirhekmat (Lund, Sweden): Language and identity of the
Azerbaijanis in Georgia
Ibrahim Rafraf (Tehran): Variable idiomaticity in the Azerbaijanian
language

If you wish to participate, you are welcome to contact our secretariat.
Please send us an abstract by March 15, if you would like to present a paper
(papers may be given in Azerbaijani or English).
A symposium fee of $25 (covering symposium materials, coffee and lunch) is
to be paid at registration.
