CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS- Journal of Central Asian Studies
The Journal of Central Asian Studies invites submissions for three
special
issues on Central Asia. The review process for contributions to these
special issues will be expedited, and all three volumes will be
published by
May of 2003, assuming a sufficient number of articles are received.
Contributions from academic scholars of all ranks, independent scholars
and
graduate students are welcome.
JCAS considers Central Asia to consist of the emerging states of
Azerbaijan,
Kazakstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, as well
as
the surrounding states and regions that share a long historical linkage
with
these states: Afghanistan, Iran, Mongolia, southern and eastern Russia
(particularly those areas having a large Muslim or Turkic population),
the
Caucasus region, Turkey, and Xinjiang.
Articles must follow the guidelines provided on the journal's website at
<http://www.geog.okstate.edu/journals/jcas/jcas.htm>, or prospective
authors
may contact the editor, Dr. Reuel Hanks, at <hreuel@okstate.edu>.
Articles
should generally be 3000-5000 words in length, must not be under
consideration by another publication, and may be submitted as e-mail
attachments (using Microsoft WORD).
The issues will focus on the following topics, each broadly defined:
1. "Globalization and Central Asia: Themes in Integration and Impact."
2. "Women's Issues in the New States of Central Asia."
3. "Turkey and the New Central Asian Order: Relations in the post-9/11
World."
