Ulugh Beg published a new catalogue of stars. He found manyerrors in

equator, the point of the vernal equinox, the length of the tropical =
year,

Extractions: Ulugh Beg was primarily an astronomer and he built an
observatory at Samarkand, the construction beginning in 1428. The
Observatory, which was circular in shape, had three levels. It was over =
50
metres in diameter and 35 metres high. The director of the Observatory =
