REGIONAL CONFERENCE
Expanding Communication: Old Boundaries and New
Frontiers
LODZ, POLAND
9-11 APRIL, 2015
Call for Papers
The ICA Lodz regional conference, organized jointly by 8 European universities and with the cooperation of the Polish Communication Association (PCA), under the auspices of the International
Communication Association (www.icahdq.org),
will take place on 9-11 April, 2015 at the University of Lodz, Poland.
The Polish Communication Association co-operates with many international
media and communication associations. PCA belongs to the International
Confederation of Communication Associations. The Polish Communication
Association is also the 15th institutional member of the
International Communication Association (ICA).1.
Objectives of the Conference: Today to an even larger extent than in past centuries,
communication frequently takes place between individuals and institutions
representing different national and cultural backgrounds. This has resulted in
a vast body of theoretical discussions on the relation between language,
culture and discourse, as well as in the emergence of empirical research on
intercultural encounters. With this in mind, the conference has the following
objectives: -
to provide a forum for communication researchers to exchange ideas on
the relationship between the transforming world around us, changing media and
communicating agents, contexts, audiences and societies,-
to contribute to
the popularization of regional and international communication research,-
to present European perspectives on transformations in communication
patterns,-
to present Central
and Eastern European development in these research areas,-
to promote regional and international research co-operation in
communication studies,-
to bring communication scholarship in Eastern and Central
Europe in closer contact with that in the rest of the world.
