The University and Research Librarians' Association in Turkey (URLA)
organize annual scientific meetings in order to raise awareness of
practitioners related to the information on various platforms like
information services, information & document management, knowledge economy,
information literacy, industrialization of information and so on in Turkey
since 1991. The scientific and original studies/papers in the accordance
with specified themes are evaluated and presentations are decided by the
scientific committee for the meeting. The URLA annual scientific meetings
are held in a different university every year and supported by various
sponsors and government agencies. The main theme of the Congrees in

Scope
Today, the information technologies are evolving rapidly both locally and
globally, and having an significant impact in many areas. The Communities
are in an intention to turn to a uniform life with the impact of the
globalization. This situation causes destruction of the cultural heritage
that leads to the social life from the past to the present time.
National and international research fields on preservation of cultural
heritage are created according to awareness of socities about the risks for
the loss of their own uniqiue identities, and the recognition of harmonies
and a dynamic structure that will be created via maintenance and
preservation of cultural heritage for the communication of societies.
Technological capabilities for providing access and organization and
preservation of cultural heritage require efficient management of every
opportunity and every single process about innovative information services
delivered by the cultural heritage institutions such as libraries, archives
and museums. Efficient management of cultural heritage and cultural memory
institutions is highly important in terms of maintenance of societies'
accumulations and its effective presentation in national and international
environments.
In this context, The main theme of the congress that will be organized bu

providers and all individuals can participate in the congress.
The accepted papers that were prepared in English language will be
published in*Elsevier Procedia - Social and Behavioral
Sciences*<http://www.journals.elsevier.com/procedia-social-and-behavioral-sciences/>
and
submitted to *Scopus, Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index
and Science Direct*. Authors are allowed to present their contributions in
Turkish as well.
