The Young Scholars on Turkey Conference 2014
February 12, 2014
National Press Club, Washington, DC

Call for Papers

The Young Scholars on Turkey (YSOT) Program calls for individual paper
proposals for its annual conference to be held on February 12, 2014 at
the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

The YSOT Conference 2014 is organized and sponsored by the SETA
Foundation at Washington D.C. The YSOT Program aims to facilitate
dialogue and exchange of ideas between Washington based policy makers,
scholars, and early career researchers whose research is related to
Turkey. The program aims to contribute to the diversity of voices and
analytical perspectives on Turkey. For further information about the
program, visit www.setadc.org/ysot.

We welcome individual paper proposals on policy-relevant issues on
Turkey from disciplines including but not limited to political science,
international relations, public policy, economics, sociology, and
conflict resolution. While papers can be from a broad range of topics,
we emphasize that the subject matter should have policy implications.

Please submit a 500-word abstract, a CV, and a short bio page as
separate word document attachments to ysot at setadc.org by November 15th.
Authors of selected abstracts will be contacted by December 1, 2013. We
will acknowledge receipt of all submissions. If you do not receive a
response, please resend your abstract.

The YSOT program will cover travel and accommodation expenses for the
conference. In order to qualify for reimbursement, a draft paper of
around 6,000 words has to be submitted by February 1, 2014. Limited
funding may be available for international participants. The conference
papers will be published in a separate volume. The edited volume from
the YSOT 2011 Conference titled, History, Politics, and Foreign Policy
in Turkey, can be found here: http://amzn.to/TS0xQw
