Preservation, Design, Use (PreDU) aims to offer graduate training in the
preservation, design and use of the archaeological landscape through a
multilateral and multidisciplinary workshop in Erythrai/Ildırı on the
Aegean coast of Turkey near Izmir on September 1-14, 2013.The programme is
designed for students of related graduate programmes in the higher
education institutions of the participating countries. In addition to
training the participating students in the field of presentation and
development of cultural heritage in archaeologically protected areas, the
programme will offer a discussion ground for the experts participating
among the teaching staff to develop a common ground for integrated and
sustainable solutions to preserve, to use and to present archaeological
landscapes with their built monuments. The programme consists of lectures by
the participating experts on various topics, workshops along selected
themes to be introduced in these lectures, and complementary field work.
The following design phase aims to integrate the practical documentationand
analyses with the theoretical framework drawn during the lecture wherein
each one of the participating fields of specialization would introduce
their basic principles, objectives and methods of working in archaeological
landscapes. This corresponds to 4 ECTS credits. As an ERASMUS IP project,
