The Young Scholars on Turkey (YSOT) 2011 Conference

- Call for Papers -

The Young Scholars on Turkey (YSOT) Program calls for individual paper
proposals for its first annual conference to be held on April 15, 2011
at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

The YSOT Conference 2011 is co-sponsored by SETA Foundation at
Washington D.C., Institute of Turkish Studies (ITS) at Georgetown
University, and the Ali Vural Ak Center for Global Islamic Studies at
George Mason University.

The YSOT Program aims to facilitate dialogue and exchange of ideas
between Washington based policy makers, scholars, and young
researchers whose research is related to Turkey in various academic
institutions and research centers. The program aims to contribute to
diversity of voices and analytical perspectives on Turkey. For further
information, visit www.setadc.org/ysot

Individual paper proposals on policy-relevant issues on Turkey in
disciplines such as history, political science, international
relations, public policy, economics, sociology, and conflict
resolution are welcome. While papers can be from a broad range of
topics, we emphasize that the subject matter should have policy
implications.

The YSOT Conference 2011 papers will be published in a separate
volume. Insight Turkey, an academic quarterly journal published by
SETA Foundation, will consider select papers for publication.

Please submit a 200 word abstract and a short bio as word attachments
to ysot at setadc.org by February 21, 2011. If selected, we will contact
you by March 7, 2011. Limited funding may be available to cover
airfare and accommodation for international participants. Please
indicate in your application if you intend to travel for the
conference.
