are pleased to announce

the 20th International academic conference

«Tendencies in the development of contemporary world literature: 
problems of narrative, genre, and character»

which is to take place at Minsk State Linguistics University on May
13–14, 2011.


The conference is to discuss the influence of the dramatic changes in 
the humankind’s social and spiritual life of the recent decades on the 
cultural environment in America, Australia and Europe as well as 
rethinking of the literary canon and the transformation of the 
logocentric model into the pluralistic one.

It is expected that special care will be taken of minorities and
postcolonial literatures. Of interest will be discussions of the
problem of the hero (anti-hero, marginal hero) and of the genre
transformations in contemporary literature.

Comparative analysis of national literatures and interdisciplinary
approach are welcome.


Languages of the conference:
Belarusian, Russian, English.


Deadline for applications: April 20, 2011.

INSTRUCTION TO AUTHORS

1. Papers should be printed 1.5-spaced, with 2,5 cm left and right
margins, 2,0 cm top and bottom margins, 12 point Times New Roman.
2. Indent each paragraph 0,5 cm from the left margin.
3. Quotations longer than three lines should be written as separate
paragraphs and indented 1 cm from the left margin. Do not use
quotation marks for indented quotations. Do not italicise quotations.
4. Use […] for omissions within quotations.
5. Do not introduce any section divisions within your article.
6. The title of Works Cited should be centred, the authors given in
the order they appear in the text in square brackets: e.g., [1, p.
10].
