JOB DESCRIPTION

The History Department at Binghamton University, State University of
New York invites applications for an assistant or early associate
professorship in the history of the Ottoman Empire, starting in Fall
2011. Area of specialization is open. Candidates should be prepared to
continue the department’s strong tradition in research and graduate
training in Ottoman history.

Review of applications will begin on December 1, 2010. Preliminary
interviews will be held at the 2011 American Historical Association
meeting in Boston. Candidates must have a PhD in hand by the time of
