- Call for Papers -

As Ege University Faculty of Letters Department of History and Center
of Ataturk Studies, with cooperation of the Turkish Historical
Society, we are planning to organize the First Annual International
Symposium on History on topics relating to the *"Turkish-Italian War
(1911-1912) and Balkan Wars in the Disintegration Process of the
Ottoman Empire"*.

It is known that the Turkish-Italian War (1911-1912) and Balkan Wars
had a crucial role during the course of dissolution of the Ottoman
State. We think it would be instructive to evaluate this process,
which is still relevant to the present day, in various aspects in
order to develop a mutual future founded on reciprocal understanding
and trust. The contribution of such scientific activities in
determining a frame of political, cultural and economic relations,
which have existed from past to present and is anticipated to continue
advancing in the future between Turkey and states and communities in
the geography of the symposium's subject matter is obvious.

We will be glad if our collegues participate with their papers to this
academic meeting we are planning to organize.

Yours sincerely.
