A Letter of Invitation

The Organizing Committee is pleased to invite you to take part in the 
19th International Scientific Conference «Language and Culture», devoted 
to the memory of professor Sergey Burago.
The Conference will be held on June 21--25, 2010 in Kiev (Ukraine) at 
the Institute of Philology of Kiev National University named after Taras 
Shevchenko.
The Conference is being jointly organized by The Institute of Philology 
of Kiev National University named after Taras Shevchenko, Shevchenko 
Institute of Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, 
The Institute of Higher Education of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences 
of Ukraine, The Institute of Linguistics named after A. Potebnya of the 
National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, The Institute of Psychology 
named after G. Kostyuk of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of 
Ukraine, P. Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine and Publishing 
House of Dmitry Burago.
Presentations are welcomed in the following topic areas:
Philosophy of Language and Culture.
Psychology of Language and Culture.
Language of Contemporary Art.
Linguistic and Culturological Interpretation of Text.
Intercultural Communication.
National Languages and Cultures -- their Specific Character and Interaction.
Language and Mass Media.
Fiction in the Context of Culture.
Theory and Practice of Translation.
Interface Between Language and Literature Teaching Methodology and 
Cultural Studies.

The Round Table "The myth of Kyiv and the present"

Languages of the Conference are Ukrainian, Russian, English.
Cultural programme:
Opening Ceremony, Concert.
Literary-musical party «Journal on the stage ,,Collegium"».
Sightseeing tour along the Dnieper by motor boat.

Registration fee -- 100 UAH. Publication fee is at the rate of: 1 page 
is equal to 20 UAH.
The Organizing Committee will provide room reservation in the university 
hostel and at a hotel on request of the participants.
Tickets, meals and accommodation are at the expense of participants.

Deadline for application and submission of abstracts and/or papers: 1 
May, 2010 (Conference Application form is attached).
