Globalization and Turkic World
September 21-24, 2010, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan


We are pleased to announce that the Third Congress of the Turkic World
Sociologists will be held at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Bishkek,
21-24 September, 2010.

The Organizing Committee calls for proposals of current research
addressing the topic "Globalization and Turkic World" related to the
themes of Turkic culture in the era of globalization, Turkic identity,
local government, civil society and culture, Turkic world and future
of the society, social anthropology, medical anthropology and
historical sociology. Scholars will be encouraged to share papers
based on the results of sociological research.

Individual papers will be organized into sections by the Organizing
Committee. Abstracts for individual papers should not exceed 300
words. The desirable duration of a paper presentation is 15 minutes;
it should not exceed 20 minutes. In case it becomes necessary to limit
the number of papers, the selection will be made by members of the
Organizing Committee.

Pre-organized panels already including the totality of requested
papers are strongly encouraged (two to three paper presenters, a chair
and a discussant if possible). It is preferable that neither the chair
nor discussant be paper presenters. In case it becomes necessary to
limit the number of papers, the selection will be made by members of
the Organizing Committee.

The participants are requested to send the Registration Form by
the end of February 2010 (request by email from organizers). The
deadline for paper titles, abstracts and/or the initial proposals
is by the end of March 2010.

The Congress's working languages include Turkic and Western languages.
