The selected writings of Peter Zieme elucidate the emphasis of his
scientific activity: research into the Buddhist literature of the
ancient Turks, particularly on the basis of the text fragments in the
Berlin Turfan collection. Zieme's investigations on this subject are
internationally respected and are frequently cited both by specialists
in Uyghur studies and experts from related disciplines. In the present
anthology, he has personally contributed addenda and corrigenda to his
already-published works. Furthermore, the editors have expanded
researchers access to the studies through several indices, including
a subject index, a word index, an index of the published and quoted
Buddhist works, an index of the published and quoted Turfan fragments,
as well as indices of the names of people and places. German
translations of two Russian articles are provided.
