New Program Announcement: Turkish Studies at University of Florida,
Gainesville

Dear List Members,

I'm pleased to announce that from Fall 2008 onwards, Turkish Studies will be
getting underway at the University of Florida's Center for European Studies.
The Center, housed within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is a
Title VI National Resource Center funded in part by the US Department of
Education. CES was created in 2003 and is currently one of just ten
Europe/West Europe Title VI Centers in the country. Initially, the program
will focus on offering courses to undergraduate students which will focus on
the government and politics of Turkey, as well as language courses in modern
Turkish at a variety of levels. In addition, the program will be seeking to
establish a 'Study Abroad' and student exchange programs in Turkey during
summer periods.
