FULL TIME LECTURER POSITION (NON-TENURE TRACK): TURKISH STUDIES 

The Center for European Studies (CES) at the University of Florida is
conducting a search for a full-time non-tenure track position in Turkish
Studies. Primary duties will include teaching first and/or second year
Turkish language and field specific area studies courses, in addition to
assisting in the development of a comprehensive Turkish Studies Program.
Program building tasks may include community outreach activities, 
enhancing collaboration with the existing on-campus Turkish student
organization, and investigating study abroad options among others. The
field of specialization is open and can include any aspect of contemporary
Turkish language, literature, culture, history, or politics. Given the
location of this position within the Center for European Studies, however,
a clear focus on Turkey's relationship to Europe is required. Native or
near-native fluency in Turkish and English, as well as _previous experience
teaching Turkish language_ are required. Candidates with Ph.D. in hand
preferred, but those who are A.B.D. will be considered. The successful
candidate will be expected to participate fully in the activities of the
CES. Teaching load: because of the substantial program building
responsibilities associated with this position the expected teaching load
is two courses per semester.
