 The Department of Political Science at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey
invites applications for visiting and/or long-term position in the fželd of
Comparative Politics beginning in January 2008 or possibly September 2008.
Applicants are expected to hold a Ph.D. degree with a strong commitment to
research as well as teaching. Ability to teach Turkish politics, too, is an
asset.

Bilkent University (www.bilkent.edu.tr) is the leading research university
in Turkey. The course load is 2/2. The language of instruction at Bilkent
is English. Salaries are competitive There is a large community of foreign
nationals at Bilkent, including faculty. The university provides free
housing to its faculty, and funding for participation in international
conferences. The University¹s Library houses one of the largest collections
in Turkey and is a designated depository of European Commission
publications. The University is also a member of the European Consortium
for Political Research. The campus is located in a newly developed
residential, cultural, and commercial area, which is only 10 kilometers (6
miles) from central Ankara. The university, too, offers many attractions in
culture as well as in sports. The university provides hourly free shuttle
service to
the city.
