About Raymond Williams: Critical Perspectives

Arising from a recent successful conference in Vienna (for further
information please visit http://www.univie.ac.at/Anglistik/AAUTEweb/)
dealing with the life, the work and the reception of the work of
Raymond Williams, several publishers have expressed an interest in
publishing a new collection of essays on this highly influential British
critic, author and teacher. In finalising our proposal, the editors
(Lawrence Grossberg, Roman Horak and Monika Seidl) would like to add to
the core of papers delivered at the conference (including Terry
Eagleton, Lawrence Grossberg, Charlotte Brunsdon, Morag Shiach, John
Higgins and John Storey) and invite submissions on topics relating to
Williams. These might include: studies of one or a number of his
literary works; his career as a teacher; his political
activities; etc.

Please only submit an abstract of approx 500 words at this stage.

Submissions should include the author's name, affiliation, surface mail
address, email address, and a brief CV. The deadline for proposals is
May 31, 2007; deadline for completed papers (5500-7500 words with notes)
will be January 31, 2008. Electronic submissions to both
monika.seidl at univie.ac.at and roman.horak at uni-ak.ac.at are encouraged,
but hard copies may be sent to:
