The sixth meeting of the Great Lakes Working Group in Ottoman Studies is to
be held at the University of Notre Dame on the weekend of April 11-13, 2008.
The purpose of the GLOW meetings is to provide opportunities for Ottomanists
from the Great Lakes region-both faculty and graduate students-to get
together,
present work in progress, mentor new scholars, and engage in broad dialogue
with each other and interested colleagues from other disciplines in an
informal and
welcoming environment.
Prospective participants are invited to propose papers as well as organizing
themes. The papers will be pre-circulated and briefly presented to allow
ample time for discussion.
Please address queries to Vassiliki Tsitsopoulou (vtsitsop at nd.edu).
Accommodation and travel funds will be available (priority will be given to
junior faculty and graduate students). More details will be available
shortly.
