The Department of History and the Department of Contemporary History at
the Faculty of History and Cultural Studies, University of Vienna, offer
the position of a Professor for "Encounters of Islamic Cultures within
Europe, 19th and 20th centuries"

(from 1 October 2007 to 31 January 2008, full-time)

Applicants must have an established record of scholarship in their field
and a demonstrated expertise in teaching and research.
Languages used for teaching in class: English and/or German.

Successful candidates must have the ability and willingness to teach the
full load in Diploma, Bachelor, Master, Secondary School Teacher
accreditation and Doctoral programs in the field of the history and
culture of Islam in Europe, 19th and 20th centuries. Applicants are
requested to submit detailed syllabi of the courses and lectures they
will teach.

Additional Information: The weekly teaching load is 8 hours
