CONF.- Islamophobia - Is It a Myth or a Reality?, May 2006, Simferopol, 
Ukraine

International Youth Conference:

'Youth from black sea countries against Islamophobia and discrimination and
fanaticism'

14-18 May 2006, Simferopol city, Crimea, Ukraine

Islamophobia - is it a myth or a reality?

The Association of Crimea community youth centers 'Youth for Peace and
Development' will organize an international youth conference entitled 'Youth
from Black Sea region countries against Islamophobia and discrimination and
fanaticism' on 14-18 May 2006 at the Crimean tatar theatre in Simferopol, in
Crimea, Ukraine.

The conference will be organized as part of the European youth campaign for
diversity, human rights, and participation 'All different-all equal!' with
support from the Council of Europe.

The official partners of the conference are several public organizations: -
'Youth for Civil Development', Georgia; - 'Civil control', Russia; - 'Youth
Media Center', Moldova; - 'Association of Young Azerbaijani Friends of
Europe', Azerbaijan.

The conference aims to develop mutual understanding and a tolerant attitude
toward different cultures and religious among the youth from the Black Sea
region countries, and also to promote youth participation in local and 
regional
life.

Participants of the conference will be youth leaders - representatives of
different religious and youth organizations from Ukraine, Romania, Russia,
Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Turkish, Moldova.

The organizers will invite special guest and experts - deputies of the 
Supreme
Council of Ukraine, government of Crimea, religious organizations of 
Ukraine and
Crimea.

The program will include: - reports of guest, experts, and participants; -
discussions in small groups; - excursion program; - presentations of
cultures and traditions.

Youth leaders as the participants of the conference will increase their
knowledge about human rights, Intercultural education, participation in 
public
life, and also will prepare practical recommendations for combating against
Islamophobia and infringements of human rights concerning Moslems. The 
prepared
recommendations will be directed to the governments of the Black Sea region
countries.
