CALL FOR PARTICIPATION- Seeking Bloggers for neweurasia.net Website
neweurasia (www.neweurasia.net), a weblog network covering Central Asia and
the Caucasus, is seeking young scholars of the region who are excited to
contribute analysis, opinion, and insight to a vibrant and growing online
community.
Our goal is to link interested young academics from throughout the world
with their peers in Central Asia and the Caucasus. To realize this
objective, we have set up individual country blogs for each of the countries
in the region, and reach out to as many local contributors as possible.
By letting them publish their ideas, news stories and analyses directly via
a blog, we promote and disseminate information on Central Asia beyond the
mainstream media, but also beyond long (and at times inaccessible) academic
journals.
Our network has already facilitated interaction and informed dialogue
between students in Central Asia and the Caucasus with others based in the
United States and Europe. By synthesizing firsthand experiences with
academic analysis and current reporting, neweurasia brings a uniquely
informed perspective to the online community.
We are looking for interested students and young academics from around the
world, and especially from the respective countries, to write about Armenia,
Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and
Uzbekistan; or about matters of regional significance to be published on our
main webpage (www.neweurasia.net).
Visit us at www.neweurasia.net and explore our country weblogs from there,
or go directly to e.g. http://kazakhstan.neweurasia.net.
If you are interested in joining the neweurasia team, please send a brief
email summarizing your background, regional focus, and contact information
to info@neweurasia.net.
