America and the Problem of Empire
October 12-15, 2005

Imperial aspirations, evangelical mission, national identity. At no time in
American history have these themes been more intimately linked or sharply
contested. This conference offers a multidisciplinary perspective on the
interplay of ideology, economic interests, religion, and foreign policy of the
United States.

The Conference will be held at the Kellogg Center, Michigan State University,
East Lansing, Michigan.

Cosponsored by the Institute for the Study of Christianity and Culture
