incoming SSHRC post-doctoral fellow. The successful applicants will
pursue a project in the research fields of oral history and/or public
history (broadly defined). Proposals that relate to the working class
experience in Canada and/or the United States are particularly welcome.
The successful applicants will work under the direction of Dr. Steven
High, Canada Research Chair in Public History. During the 12 month
internship, the graduate student or postdoctoral scholar will help run
the Concordia Oral History Research Laboratory (COHRL), part of
Concordia's new Centre for Oral History and Digital Storytelling.

downtown Montreal, is home to a number of public historians who
specialize in oral history, digital storytelling and the study of public
memory and commemoration.
A new undergraduate public history stream (with internship) will
commence in September 2006. Incoming graduate students will therefore be
part of a vibrant community of scholars.

The Concordia Oral History Research Laboratory (COHRL) The digital
revolution is changing how we "think" and "do" history. The COHRL aims
to use digital technology to capture and index videotaped oral history
interviews. The lab provides facilities for digital oral history
recording and analysis as well as a dedicated sound room and video
conferencing room. The aim is to push Concordia to the forefront of oral
history research in Canada.
