Changing Borders & Creating Voices
The English Graduate Student Association at the University of North Carolina at
Charlotte invites you to attend the 2006 Graduate Student Conference to be held
on Thursday January 26, 2006. All disciplines are encouraged to submit abstracts
and attend the conference.
Where do borders and voices intersect?
At a time when the borders between the disciplines are changing daily, new
voices emerge with equal frequency and old voices assume new valances. They
attempt to clarify, challenge, and reconfigure existing orders. They often refer
us to earlier times of change; what is old can, indeed, be new.
We invite papers on voices that inspire change, break down walls, create harmony
from discord or discord from harmony. In order to recognize the diversity of
our program, we accept topics from a variety of disciplines: literature,
children's literature, linguistics, technical and professional writing, writing
and rhetoric, and interdisciplinary studies. We seek iconic voices, iconoclastic
voices, creative voices, and technical voices.
Presentations will be 15 minutes followed by a question and answer period.
Please identify any special audiovisual needs with your abstract.
