CALL FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS
The Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Turkey will award scholarships to the foreign researchers for conducting research, graduate and postgraduate studies in the field of history, sociology, political-psychology, international relations, administrative sciences, communication and Turcology.
Scholarships are offered to scholars to conduct research, write articles and books about the subjects that they are willing to study. Candidates must have the ability to work on Turkish (Ottoman) Archives. At the end of their research, scholars are obliged to publish their work.
Scholars can either work individually or together with academics at Turkish universities; depending on the quality and necessity of the research they will conduct.

Eastern Front in the First World War
Terrorist Attacks in the Ottoman Empire
Activities of Dashnaks and Hunchaks in the Ottoman Empire
Ottoman-Russian Relations at the turn of the 20th Century.
Ottoman-British Relations at the turn of the 20th Century.
Ottoman-US Relations at the turn of the 20th Century.
Armenian Diaspora
Revolts and Uprising in the Ottoman Empire During the First World War
Contagious Diseases in the Last Era of the Ottoman Empire
SCHOLARSHIPS
1 Person, 3 years, 1.250 $ per month (Sponsor: Kadir Has University)
1 Person, 1 year, 4000 Euro per year in International Relations (Sponsor: Haliç University)
2 Persons, 6 months, 1.250 $ per month and free accommodation at university hall (Sponsor: Beykent University).
1 Person, 1 year, 10.000$ per year (Sponsor: Çankaya University).
2 Persons, 1 year, free accommodation at university hall (Sponsor: Maltepe University).
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Candidates should submit their CVs, research proposals, a document that indicates that the candidate has the linguistic ability to work on the Ottoman archives (for individual researchers only), two reference letters, a copy of their undergraduate and/or graduate diploma as a proof of degree and a copy of academic work, if exists.
Deadline for application is the 30th of December 2005. Scholars will be asked to start their researches in September 2006.
Applications will be received by the Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Turkey. The Council of Higher Education Scholarship Committee will review the submitted proposals and recommend finalists to the General Board of the Council of Higher Education.
