The New School's Graduate Program in International Affairs has a sudden and
urgent need for an adjunct to teach a course this fall entitled "Race
and Gender
in International Relations."

The "international relations" part of the title can be broadly
interpreted: the
instructor has broad lattitude in developing the course as s/he sees fit, as
long as it deals with the role of race and gender in the
construction/implementation/implications/deployment of said categories in
international development/organization/interactions/emergencies/urban or
rural
settings, etc. All serious proposals considered. Anthropological approaches
obviously welcome. This is a Masters level intro class, not a specialized
research seminar.

The course meets once a week on Wednesdays from 8-10pm. The pay is $6,200.

One catch (sigh): you have to be authorized to work in the US (i.e. not
on an F
visa, unless you are using OPT, which I don't generally recommend). ABD
vastly
preferred.

If interested please email a brief course proposal and CV to me at
bachj@newschool.edu by July 1.

Many thanks,

Jonathan
