**Submissions deadline extended to February 12, 2005

(dis)junctions 2005: theory reloaded is the 12th annual humanities
graduate student conference at the University of California, Riverside.
It is a two-day event, spanning Friday and Saturday, April 8-9, 2005.

Keynote: We are pleased to announce that this year=92s keynote is Judith
Halberstam. Professor Halberstam is the author of The Transgender
Moment: Gender Flexibility and the Postmodern Condition (2004), The Drag
King Book (1999 w/LaGrace Volcano), Female Masculinity (1998), Skin
Shows: Gothic Horror and the Technology of Monsters (1995), and
co-editor of Posthuman Bodies (1995 w/Ira Livingston).

Submissions: (dis)junctions conferences are intended to foster critical
awareness of current academic issues and trends from across the
humanities. This year's theme, "theory reloaded," hopes to encourage
conversations that put into question the way theory informs our work.
Because of the very nature of our conference, we are seeking
interdisciplinary approaches. We encourage both critical and creative
submissions.

Individual abstracts and/or abstracts for pre-formed panels of three
presenters should be sent to: disjunctions@verizon.net by February 12,
2005. Please indicate your name and conference panel in the email
subject line; abstracts in the body of message. No attachments, please.
The submissions should be no longer than 250 words for individual
proposals and 750 for panel proposals. Applications sent via postal mail
must be postmarked no later than February 12, 2005 and should be sent to:
