The International Conference on Islam will be held on the campus of =
University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA, during April 29-30, 2005. The =
objective of the conference is to create an environment for the =
discussion of various aspects of Islam in an academic setting and in a =
non-speculative way. The conference will serve the purpose of bringing =
together academics, scholars and researchers interested in different =
aspects of Islam, and will provide an opportunity to share new findings,
approaches and research on Islam. The theme of this year's conference =
will be Islam and Dialogue.
Talk proposal / Abstract submission deadline: March 15th, 2005
Scope:
Topics of interest include but not limited to:
* Dialogue in the Quran and Sunnah
* Dialogue in the History of Islam
* Current Islamic movements and Dialogue
* Dialogue among Abrahamic Traditions
* Islam and the West
* Islamic Spirituality
* Prospects for Middle East
* Gender's Role in Dialogue
Keynote Speaker:
* Prof. Kemal Karpat, University of Wisconsin-Madison
Important dates:
* Conference registration starts : January 10th, 2005
* Talk proposal / Abstract submission : March 15th, 2005
* Publication of program : April 1st, 2005
* Last day for conference registration: April 15th, 2005
Submissions:
If interested in giving a talk in International Conference on Islam, =

* Your full name, institutional affiliation and contact information
* Brief CV/Bio
* Talk title and 500-word abstract
The submissions will be peer reviewed and the abstracts of the accepted =
presentations will be published in the proceedings of the conference.
