New Book: Sons of the Conquerors: The Rise of the Turkic World has been =
published by Overlook Press, New York, and is now being distributed in =
the U.S. Publication in the UK by Duckworth is in June.
The book argues that the past 15 years have seen historic progress in =
key Turkic countries, and that, while there is little sign of any Turkic =
political unity, there are several areas of commercial and cultural =
convergence. I hope it will open a fresh window on the diversity of the =
Islamic world, offer insights into the developing countries as a whole =
and, since it is largely built around anecdotes from my own travels, =
that it will be of strong interest to the general reader.
Price: $35.00 hardcover.=20
ISBN: 1-58567-641-1.
