DEADLINE UPDATE: NOVEMBER 2, 2004
We are considering proposals for sessions organized around a theme,
special panels, and/or individual papers.  Sessions are scheduled in 1=BD
hour slots, ideally with four papers or speakers per standard session.
We welcome any English-language representations of non-English
literatures and cultures and writings about other humanities
disciplines, especially those that incorporate comparative looks at
English-language and other cultural texts pertaining to European
Literature and Culture (excluding Germany and the UK), but are
especially interested in writings on the following subjects:
-  Comparative literature
-  Comics
-  Rock, pop and rap music and rock music criticism in Europe
-  Representations of American literature and culture and current events
in the European media
-  Reality TV in Europe (except for Germany and the UK) and its
similarities/dissimilarities to American versions
-  Contemporary European cinema (except Germany and the UK)
Should you or any of your colleagues be interested in submitting a
proposal or have any questions, please contact the area chair (see below)=
