[Discussion] CFP: The Voice of the Other: Reconstructing Our Cultural Discourse

The Fourth Annual Graduate Conference on Language and Literature hosted
by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette will be held April 22-23, 20=
05.
This year=92s topic, =93The Voice of the Other: Reconstruction Our Cultur=
al
Discourse,=94 should be construed broadly applying to both text and its
cultural context. This exploration may take many shapes. Possible topics
and approaches may include: race, gender, class and identity, Cultural
Studies, Folklore, material culture and oral culture, Theoretical
approaches, Rhetoric, Linguistic, and Interdisciplinary approaches.
Presenters may submit papers for the Darrell Bourque Award. This
generous monetary award has been established to recognize excellence in
scholarly writing, and is open to all presenters at the conference. To
be eligible for the award, candidates must first be accepted for
presentation, then the full-length conference paper must be by the March
17, 2005 deadline for consideration.
Please submit 300-500 word proposals for 15-20 minute presentations by
November 30, 2005. Please send your name, institutional affiliation,
physical address, e-mail address, phone number, and a brief biographical
note with all submissions.
