Sokh: Uzbek border guards are mocking at Kyrgyz passengers<br>

According to information of law enforcement bodies and defense department o=
f Batken oblast administration, lately the number of indignant Kyrgyz citiz=
ens with actions of Uzbek border guards on the post of Sokh enclave has inc=
reased. The majority of such complaints come from residents of Dara village=
 of Batken region. The letters and oral addresses to the name of the govern=
or of Batken oblast state the chaos created by Uzbek border guards on borde=
r posts. <br>

According to witnesses the border guards check for long hours under differe=
nt excuses the regular Kyrgyz buses subjected the passengers to humiliating=
 procedures of checking, forcing them to show documents even for babies, ce=
rtificates for grocery bought at the market of Batken and etc. The resident=
s of the villages who are subjected to such humiliations all the time are d=
emanding from the leadership of the oblast the quickest normalization of th=
e relations on the border. <br>

BATKEN. According to the information received from the protection of rights=
 and defense department of oblast administration from October 6th, lately t=
he complaints of people against the border guards at Sokh enclave of Uzbeki=
stan is increasing. The majority of such complaints are coming from the res=
idents of the village Dara of Batken region. The complaints addressed to th=
e governor of the oblast state the increased hardships recently at crossing=
 the Uzbek borders of Sokh enclave, because the people from mountainous vil=
lages of Kayindy, Kan and Janyryk need to cross the Sokh enclave in order t=
o go the oblast center. <br>

The Uzbek border guards usually delay the bus  Batken-Kayndy  for two hours=
 under different excuses. The border guards even ask a document for 1-year-=
old children and ask papers for grocery bought from Batken bazaar. Such gro=
undless actions are raising indignation of Kyrgyz people. The complaints in=
 addition requested to solve this problem through asking the Russian govern=
ment bring up the question during the negotiations with Uzbek government. C=
urrently the attempts are taken to negotiate with Uzbek party. <br>
