The Cold War and Globalization
The Third Annual Cultural Studies Association Conference (U.S.)
Theme: Sex, Race, and Globalization
Tucson, AZ
April 21-24, 2005

While historians, political scientists, and economists have commented on
the impact policy decisions made during World War II and the Cold War
have had on the global economy, and others have drawn continuities and =
discontinuities between the war on Communism and the war on terror, this
panel seeks papers that more broadly theorize the relationship between
post-war and contemporary policy, politics, economics, literature, and
culture. What role did the Cold War play in shaping the contents and
discontents of globalization? Interdisciplinary approaches to this
question are encouraged.
