5th Annual CRAFT, CRITIQUE, CULTURE Conference
Reading Readers/Reading Cultures
April 8-10, 2005
CRAFT, CRITIQUE, CULTURE is an interdisciplinary conference focusing on
the intersections between critical and creative approaches to writing
both within and outside the academy. This year=92s conference will
examine the ways in which culture, in any of its aspects=97products,
works, forms, behaviors, institutions, etc.=97is produced, distributed,
manipulated, interpreted, and consumed. The conference encourages
inquiry from a range of disciplines throughout the humanities and social
sciences. We invite the submission of critical, theoretical and
original creative work in a variety of media (including film, video,
music, writing, visual art, artists=92 books, etc.). This year=92s
conference highlights will include a keynote presentation by
Duke=92s Frances Fox Professor of Literature, Janice Radway.
Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
