The proceedings of international conference jointly organised by Altai
Center of Oriental Studies (Barnaul), International Institute of 
Strategic Studies (London), Scientific-educational Forum on 
International Relations (Moscow) and Altai State University (Barnaul) 
are focused on topical issues of economy, security and the evolution of 
regional security in Western Siberia and Central Asia. This project was 
supported by Eurasia Foundation, Open Society Institute, MacArthur 
Foundation and Carnegie Corporation (New York).
