[Discussion] CFP: (dis)junctions: 18th C Travel and the Textual/Visual Production
of the Other (grad) (1/7/05; 4/8/05-4/9/05)

This call for papers is for a proposed panel to be held at
(dis)junctions 2005: theory reloaded, the University of California,
Riverside's 12th Annual Humanities Graduate Conference taking place
April 8-9, 2005.
Contributors are invited to submit papers on how travel in the long 18th
C impacts a Western production of knowledge about non-Western "Other(s)."
Possible topics include but are certainly not limited to:
-Tourism / Travel narrative as a genre
-Colonialism/Imperialism
-Diaspora
-Pilgrimage/Missionary work
-Visual mis/representations
-Fictional mis/representations
-Fantastic voyages

2005. Please include your text in the body of the email message rather
than as an attached document.
