The "Health Issues in Popular Culture" PCA/ACA area encourages proposals
from historical and contemporary perspectives. Topics may include
subjects related to drugs, alcohol, and tobacco; infectious and chronic
disease in popular culture; epidemics; mental health; health
institutions; women and men as healers, caretakers, and health
professionals; literature and health; health or disease in the media;
race, gender, class and health; and urban and rural health.
Contributions form interdisciplinary and single disciplines are welcome.
