Abstracts on any aspect of Masculinity or Masculinity Studies are 
welcome. See suggested topics below.



Directions for Abstract Submissions


Before Nov. 1, 2004, send the following information to Dr. Merry G. 
Perry by email (preferably) or regular mail:


1. Paper/Presentation Title and an Abstract (100-200 words).


2. A One-Paragraph Biography (to be used for introductions).


3. Complete personal information: name, department, school affiliation, 
mailing address (school and home), email address, phone number, and fax 
number.

Important Information

1. You may form and submit for consideration a single paper/presentation 
(15-minutes) or a complete panel (four 15-minute papers/presentations).

2. You will receive email notification of acceptance status within two 
weeks of submission. Then, formal

acceptance letters and registration forms will be sent to you in December.

3. Let me know if you wish to serve as a Chair for either your panel or 
one of the other panels in the ACA

Masculinities Area. Then, I will let you know if I need you to serve in 
that capacity.

4. In order to participate in the conference and to be listed in the 
program, you must pay a conference registration fee and an association 
membership fee (either the PCA or the ACA) before January 1, 2005. 
Otherwise, your name will be removed from the program, which will be 
available online in late January. Please verify appropriate funding 
sources before you submit a conference abstract.

Conference Fees

Professionals: Registration: $125 Membership: $50 TOTAL: $175 
Students/Unemployed/Retired: Registration: $60 Membership: $50 TOTAL: $110


5. AV Equipment: I encourage you to incorporate a visual element 
(handouts, film clips, or a PowerPoint presentation) into your paper. 
The only AV equipment provided free-of-charge in every presentation room 
at the conference is a DVD player (with PowerPoint capability). If you 
need any other AV equipment, you will need to bring it to the conference 
or make special arrangements with the hotel.


6. Graduate student submissions are encouraged.

7. Conference participants are permitted to present only one paper at 
the conference.
