Remember Foucault

On the 15 June 2004, DBS (Kaplan, a division of The Washington Post=20
Company) and the French Embassy in Ireland in invite you to attend this=20
historic conference in the Bank of Ireland buildings on College Green,=20
Dublin

When Michel Foucault died in 1984 he was, perhaps, the world=92s=20
best-known intellectual. In the twenty years since his death his work=20
has become a source of inspiration for a generation of thinkers across a=20
range of disciplines and traditions. This one-day conference brings=20
together the leading thinkers of today to reflect on the influence of=20
the work of Michel Foucault on their own intellectual trajectories from=20
the critical and retrospective position of twenty years after his death.=20
This event will also probe the possibilities in emergent work that draws=20
from the epistemological legacy of Foucault.

Keynote speakers include: Edward W. Soja, Berard Lahire, Ken Starkey,=20
Colin Gordon, Michel Senellart, and Daniel Defert.
