The Cultures of Consumption research programme invites applications for=20
an International Visiting Fellowship for 2005. Cultures of Consumption=20
explores consumption in a global context. The research programme is=20
funded by the ESRC and AHRB and brings together leading researchers from=20
the social sciences and the arts and humanities. The Fellowship is=20
competitive and open to leading international researchers from across=20
the social sciences and humanities. Applicants' research interests=20
should relate to research projects in the Cultures of Consumption=20
programme.

The fellow will write one paper, and participate in one workshop or=20
conference with researchers in the programme. Applications are invited=20
from younger as well as senior academics based outside the United=20
Kingdom. The fellowship is for any period from three to six months, with=20
a stipend of =A32,500 - 3,000 per month, depending on qualifications. The=
=20
fellow will be based at Birkbeck College in the heart of London.=20
Competition for the fellowship will be held annually.

Deadline: *29 April 2004* (for Fellowships January 2005 - December 2005)

Requirements: PhD or equivalent, research of international excellence,=20
institutional affiliation outside the United Kingdom.
